Changes to Leeds and York Partnership NHS Foundation Trust's Single Point of Access (SPA)
From 4 March 2019 Leeds and York Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (LYPFT)'s Single Point of Access (SPA) will have a more clearly defined role of providing an access point for referrals to specialist mental health services in Leeds.
The changes are part of the work currently taking place to redesign community mental healthcare services in the city.
The primary difference will be that the SPA will no longer provide out of hours telephone support for people using mental health services and carers.
To make sure that people who use services and carers still have access to telephone support, arrangements are being put in place to provide extended telephone support through third sector partners in Leeds. This is currently in development and should be in place from the beginning of March when calls will be re-directed to these services.
