MindWell launches Christmas 2019 campaign
Christmas can be a great time for catching up with family and friends, celebrating and having fun. It can also be a time of stress, money worries, family tension and loneliness. Many people feel pressured to have a 'perfect' time at Christmas, especially as we're surrounded by adverts and social media telling us how wonderful everything is.
For people already dealing with mental health problems, the challenges of the festive period can sometimes make things feel worse.
Following our previous successful seasonal mental health campaigns, this year MindWell is encouraging everyone in Leeds to 'Stay healthy this Christmas'. From 10 December, you can visit our Christmas toolkit and download our guide with self-help strategies and links to support and services in Leeds.
We've also got information about opening times for services in Leeds and details of community events and meals on Christmas day.
We're launching the guide on social media along with Christmas self-care tips for a mentally healthier Christmas. We'll be using the hashtags:
Please follow us @MindWellLeeds and Retweet or like our Tweets. You can also share your tips for coping with Christmas using the hashtag #StayhealthythisChristmas We'd love to know what tools you use to help you cope with this wonderful/busy/stressful time of year. We'd also love to hear from local organisations who are offering services, activities or events to support people in Leeds over the festive season.
