Thursday 4 February is Time to Talk Day. Organised by Time to Change, the aim of the day is to bring the nation together to break the silence around mental health.

This year’s theme is The Power of Small: a small conversation about mental health has the power to make a big difference.

There are a number of events and activities taking place in Leeds to mark the occasion. If you’re planning an event in Leeds, please tag @MindWellLeeds on Twitter and we’ll try to promote it throughout the week.

We’ve created a Time to Talk bingo card you can use to start small conversations, explore MindWell and Leeds services and find the local events.

There’s plenty to join in with – all online this year:

  • Anti-Stigma Leeds are holding a virtual coffee morning on Zoom on the Thursday 4 February, from 10.30am-2pm, as a platform for people to share experiences of the power of small. You can register for your free spot on Eventbrite.
  • You can join in with the Twitter chat by searching #TimeToTalkLeeds on Twitter between 6pm-7pm on 4 February.
  • Time to Change are hosting their first virtual festival on the 3 to 4 February. The festival is a day of activities where people can join together to tackle the silence and the stigma that still surrounds mental health. There’s a discussion on the 3 February at 7pm around the power of talking, with director Jo Loughran.

However you mark Time to Talk Day this year, with an online event or a small chat with a friend, all ideas can make a difference.
