Referral to Perinatal Team (through service referral form) - referrals of women with significant mental health difficulties during pregnancy and the first year following a child's birth are normally made directly to the specialist perinatal mental health service. Referral to the Perinatal Team is from 12 weeks of pregnancy. Before 12 weeks contact the SPA. Women with long standing mental health needs will usually be managed by the CMHT with the specialist perinatal services providing input as appropriate.
Domestic abuse - practical & emotional support
Referral to CONNECT: The West Yorkshire and Harrogate Adult Eating Disorders Service - service criteria is for people with moderate to severe Anorexia Nervosa (AN) or Severe Bulimia Nervosa (BN), OR less severe/ atypical eating disorders but the presence of an additional risk factor (such as diabetes, pregnancy, related physical health risks). In addition, the service has an early intervention pathway – FREED; for individuals aged 18-25 with onset of less than 3 years, CONNECT accepts referrals for mild AN and mild/ moderate BN. CONNECT also has a dual diagnosis pathway within the service, for individuals who meet the service criteria, but also experience drug or alcohol dependency (run in partnership with Forward Leeds).
Referral to NHS Northern Gambling Support Service which offers specialist therapy to people affected by gambling addiction including family, partners and carers. The service is based at Leeds City Council's Community Hub at Merrion House and covers the whole of the North of England.
The Mental Health Homeless Team at Leeds City Council provides a dedicated floating support service for people who are faced with homelessness and who also have mental health problems. Psychosis and schizophrenia
Aspire is the Leeds Early Intervention in Psychosis Service, providing support to people aged 14 – 65 who are, or may be, experiencing their first episode of psychosis. Referrals from GPs, practice nurse, counsellors and from concerned family/friends or from the person experiencing difficulties.
