The Loss Foundation is the UK’s national charity specialising solely in supporting those who lose a loved one to cancer, whether that be spouses, family members, friends or colleagues.
The have a range of services, including:
- Support Groups – Online bereavement groups for sharing stories and experiences
- Connect – Matching together two individuals with a similar loss to share their experiences to form a mutually supportive, meaningful connection and friendship
- Therapy Groups – 12-week bereavement therapy led by Clinical Psychologists
- Grief Workshops – Focused sessions addressing common grief-related challenges
- Retreats – Weekend retreat combining therapy and peer support
- Walk and Talks – taking place throughout the UK, including Leeds – providing space for people to take steps through grief together.
- Grief resources – worksheets, meditation, videos and more to support people in managing grief.
They provide a variety of free support events, in-person and online, to help people at any point during their loss. These spaces allow people to meet – and be supported by – others who have experienced a similar experience.
The Loss Foundation also delivers training on bereavement support.
