You will have noticed some changes to MindWell. Over the last few months MHabitat has been working with Volition and digital agency HMA to build a new platform for the mental health website.

The rebuild offers improved navigation, content management and accessibility which will allow people who use screen readers to better access the site.

As part of this process we have also:

● refreshed our crisis information page; Need urgent help? was co-designed with a group of local people with lived experience to help better support people experiencing emotional distress
● created a new Mental Health Services Directory to help people quickly find information about support for a range of conditions and issues
● added a new blog page – read our first MindWell blog ‘Wellbeing every day – but what day is it?’

Work to further improve MindWell will continue in April and May. Keep checking back to see more developments including:

● more improvements to our content and visual layout of pages
● updates to the professionals section following a consultation with GPs and review of professionals referral information
● enhanced accessibility features for people with sensory impairments including transcripts and captions for video content, accessible pdfs and alt text descriptions

You can let us know about your experiences of using MindWell through our feedback form and also sign up to our newsletter through a link on the new homepage.

About MindWell

MindWell is commissioned by NHS Leeds CCG and brings together information from across the NHS, Leeds City Council and the third sector into one ‘go to’ place.

MindWell is developed by partnership of MHabitat a co-design digital inclusion and innovation team hosted by the NHS and Volition, a forum of third sector organisations that support mental wellbeing in Leeds and part of Forum Central.

The work to refresh and rebuild the award-winning website was funded by Leeds Better Care Fund. The Better Care Fund is a collaboration between NHS England, the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government, Department of Health and Social Care and the Local Government Association. It provides financial support to councils and NHS organisations to deliver local services which support joined-up, people-centred integrated care.
