Touchstone are bringing together their Safe Space and Well-Bean Crisis Cafes across West Yorkshire with one new name and updated look: Here For You.
It’s an out-of-hours service offering face-to-face support for anyone feeling down or struggling to cope with their thoughts.
Since first opening two nights a week from Lincoln Green Community Centre in 2016, the Well-Bean Crisis Café service has grown rapidly to support the growing number of people who are seeking support for thoughts of depression, loneliness, anxiety, self-harm, and suicide on an evening.
Touchstone now offers this vital support seven nights a week, 365 days a year across Leeds, Kirklees, and Wakefield, alongside partners Leeds Survivor Led Crisis Service and GASPED in Wakefield.
Since starting, the service has supported over 2000 people access free, confidential, and safe, same night support when they need it most. In 2023 alone, the teams across these three areas provided over 4000 hours of support to people, who otherwise would struggle alone, turn to A&E, or may even attempt suicide and require police support.
The Here For You service is continuing to offer this support every evening from 6pm until midnight. They challenge the stigma around talking about our feelings, or having thoughts of self-harm and suicide by offering a safe, inclusive space, where anybody can come and be their authentic self.
