The theme of this year’s Mental Health Awareness Week, starting on Monday 9 May, is ‘Loneliness’.
The Mental Health Foundation has set the national theme to raise awareness of the impact of loneliness on our mental health and the practical steps we can all take to address it. That’s why we’ve created our MindWell #ConnectMore campaign, to encourage us all to take small steps to reach out to others.
MindWell social media campaign for Mental Health Awareness Week (MHAW)
MindWell, will be running a Connect More campaign all week, highlighting the different ways we can connect with ourselves, connect with others and with communities to boost our wellbeing. We will also use social media to promote different groups and activities you can join in Leeds, from support groups to activity groups, local services to classes or workshops and ideas for volunteering to ways to connect online from home. Explore our new Connect with others web page – the campaign has different themes and resources each day:
- Connect with yourself – Monday 9 May
- Connect with others – Tuesday 10 May
- Connect together – Wednesday 11 May
- Connect communities – Thursday 12 May
- Connect online – Friday 13 May
- Keep connecting – Saturday 14 and Sunday 15 May
We’ll have more about loneliness and how to #ConnectMore in our latest newsletter and blog during the week. Follow @MindWellLeeds on Twitter #ConnectMore #MHAW22 #Leeds to keep up-to-date and join in the chat.
We’ll also be supporting the Mental Health Foundation #IveBeenThere campaign to encourage people to share their experiences of loneliness.
