Barnardo’s Positive Identities Service is a safe, welcoming service for trans, non‑binary and LGBTQ+ young people (13–18, up to 19th birthday) and their families across Yorkshire.
They offer:
- Gender Space – a supportive group for trans, non-binary and gender-questioning young people to feel heard, respected and less alone
- possibility of up to 6 one‑to‑one therapy sessions, after completing group work
- peer support for parents/carers
- online and in-person sessions
- Safe Zone training and consultancy for schools and organisations
They work with kindness and confidentiality, listening without judgement and respecting each person’s identity and experience.
Young people and parents/carers can complete an online referral form by visiting their website, downloading the relevant form, and sending to positive.identities@barnardos.org.uk.
