Cycle for Health is a programme for adults with poor mental or physical health.
It’s a 8 week support package aiming to build fitness, self-esteem and confidence on a bike, learning new skills and enjoying guided bike rides. The course takes place once per week as a 2 hour session in groups of 6 to 10 by qualified cycling instructors.
It is free to access and bikes and helmets are provided.
Individuals need to be referred by a GP, support worker, health related charity or community organisations. Individuals can ask their GP or support worker to refer them. To express an interest email cycleforhealth@cyclinguk.org
They currently run courses from the following locations:
- Cross Flatts Park, Beeston, Leeds
- Peel Park, Bradford
- Thornes Park Stadium, Wakefield
- Springs Hall Athletics Track, Halifax
- Leeds Road Sports Complex, Huddersfield
