Confidential family support service with local volunteers helping families experiencing difficulties.
A Home-Start volunteer can visit you in your home and offer their support, friendship and practical help (such as help to attend appointments or do the shopping). They can also listen and encourage. Volunteers support families struggling with post-natal depression, isolation, physical health problems, bereavement and many other problems. Families are usually introduced to Home-Start by someone such as a health visitor, social worker, midwife or family worker, but you can also contact the organisation yourself.
The charity also helps families with young children deal with the challenges they face and runs groups for friendship and support.
