A 500 acre working farm, near Wetherby where individuals with a range of social care needs are supported to care for both animals and plants. People do meaningful work to help them to develop skills and confidence whilst building community connections and reducing social exclusion.
In addition to the 70 people who take part in animal and plant care work on the farm, there is also the Victorian Walled Garden. They can support up to 15 participants, three days per week (Wednesday, Thursday and Fridays), between 10.00am and 3.00pm within the beautiful Walled Garden setting. Participants can attend one day per week for a year, and therapeutic growers act as a guide and facilitator to the daily groups. This provision is year round, with tasks to do in every season of the year.
Taster sessions can be arranged for people who might benefit from farm or garden activities or groups. There is wheelchair access available in some areas – they’re working to improve all areas.
