Mermaids supports young people up to 25 years old experiencing gender identity issues, and their families and professionals working with them.
It offers emotional support and information by telephone and webchat. Mermaids is also a gateway to parents and teens forums, information about current legislation and protections under the law, plus signposting to training and resources.
The helpline is covered by volunteers who aim to answer your calls between 9am and 9pm, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Any voicemails will be responded to as soon as they’re received. If there is no-one available to talk to and your situation is urgent, please email or use the chat service.
